If artists want to get paid, they need to learn how to work with the traditional materials once again, and then find clients wealthy enough to pay them for that. Because it will, very soon, become a high status marker to have real human hands that made real art.
This is the same thing with all the other AI stuff. Soon all contracts will be required to be done in person. No more video meetings for fear of AI spoofing, signatures the same, etc. There will be a very real push for in person interactions to confirm you are who you claim to be.
But, that might all take a decade to play out. Which gives would be artists plenty of time to train.

Your point about "in person" is a good one.
